Artist Bio

Thanks for visiting my blog! Here I share my illustrated ideas.

I am a freelance illustrator, specialising in drawing for children of all ages. Working from the fields & often from my petite pretty studio in Singapore, I mostly create illustrations for a cause.

I was born in Kolkata (then Calcutta) & started to draw not long after my birth. After my first children illustrations for the book, “The Friday Fair”, published by KATHA India, I illustrated 9 more books, 8 of them already published by publishers including Pratham Books & Room To Read. My passion for illustrated books has led me more and more to continue pursuing this path. Those who appreciate my artwork are fond of the bright colours, big eyes & shining smiles of the characters I enjoy drawing the most.

My work has been exhibited in Rome & Singapore, & I have been featured by more than 30 international media outlets. As an art-for-change advocate, I have created an online movement “My Father illustrations” to promote girl child rights. Through this Facebook page, I share illustrated real-life stories of fathers who defend their daughters’ rights.

Besides working with international publishers & on my self-initiated projects, I am a commissioned artist for many international development agencies across Asia. I am a self-taught illustrator, awarded as one of the 50 creative fellows by the National Arts Strategies (USA) in 2015 & an arts fellow under Royal Society of Arts (RSA) in the UK.
